| paroleti pri cxe kie mi studas |
[07 Jan 2010|04:12pm] |

| misremembered |
[11 Mar 2009|02:55am] |
so* i was trying to remember the name of a band from norway that i found yesterday. i couldnt for the life of me think of the name, or think of what i was listening to that made me find it. all i could come up with was "anykropp," which wasnt it. so finally, i remembered that i had read the wikipedia article about it, and that it had said that they were a duo. so i tried "norwegian electronic duo" and the first search result was "Röyksopp." so, i had 5 letters out of eight, not in the right order. not bad!
*this was not posted because i think anyone would find it interesting. move along. nothing to see here.

| komerco kaj esperanto |
[10 Jan 2009|12:43am] |

| please vote now |
[29 Dec 2008|11:52am] |
if you dont know about esperanto, read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esperanto
on barack obama's website, he is having people vote on which ideas in each category that they would like him to discuss and look through. i'm not sure who or how, but it doesnt matter. only the top three are going to be actively considered. esperanto is #2 in education now, but please vote if you think the idea of an international auxiliary language as a means of learning other languages is a good idea.
several tests have shown that if you learn esperanto for a year, and then learn french for a year, your french will be better than someone who learned french for two years. this is because esperanto's grammar is super easy, and you spend your time learning how to communicate and say what you mean, rather than learning verb conjugations, how to spell, and how to pronounce it. then, when you go onto french (or any other language), you already have the skillsets needed to learn a language.
and if you dont agree, please vote on another idea:

| linguistic question |
[29 Dec 2008|11:16am] |
i apologize in ahead of time to anyone who does not appreciate the words in this post. i know, i know, it may not seem this way, but i assure you it is merely a linguistic consideration, and i petition that you treat it from an academic standpoint, snickering perhaps appropriately to the side. i dont know what made think of it, but consider the following verbal phrase: "jerk off." now, imagine for a moment, how to add a direct object. we all know how to add a subject, "he," and even an indirect object, "to jessica alba," but the question is what exactly is the action being performed on?
well, the obvious answer would be a penis, of course, preferably his own. so, therefore, where does the word "penis" fit into the sentence?
and i am not just asking hypothetically, i am asking in actuality--please tell me what you think, even if you believe it can never take a direct object. resolution to this linguistic quandary is of utmost importance.
so, let's consider the options, opening our mind to possibly making the word "penis" the object of a prepositional phrase, as well. so would it be:
1. "jerks off his penis" 2. "jerks his penis off" 3. "jerks off with his penis" 4. "jerks with his penis off" or consider the wonderful constructivity of #5: penis-jerks off (leaving one to wonder what the other possible sorts of jerks one can perform would be).
please respond with whatever you may think is the most linguistically likely of the verb were to take a direct opbject. feel free to contribute your own ideas.

| a good perspective to have with the state of the economy |
[29 Sep 2008|03:10pm] |
as these hard economic times hit the country and probably the world, i've been a bit disturbed by how much we are all paying attention to it. things dont happen in this country by paying them heed, but by doing another deed. a less important, distracting deed (perhaps some american idol?) so let's please listen to our dear old friend dr. seuss, and get ourselves some ostrich hats:
 now in widescreen, hd!

this isnt some meme. it's an actual personality test, i believe the numbers are even saved and put in towards a study. i am taking it as an assignment for personality psych.
Check out my personality profile!
i think it's fairly accurate. i took this for my personality psych test.
i am just saving this for later so i can do my assignment. i hate the meyers briggs test. please dont think this next one has any validity:

| hanging a baby in the air |
[13 Jul 2008|03:21pm] |
|
i am watching some irish tv, a show from the 60's called siar. (i think it's pronounced sheer). they were having some sort of festival, and someone hung their baby out of a window. it seems to be the thing to do! michael jackson wishes he were cool, he's just a poser.
